ID and SKU Comparison Use Cases

Comparing identifier lists is essential for data reconciliation across systems. Common scenarios:

  • Inventory reconciliation — Compare catalog SKUs against warehouse stock to find out-of-stock items.
  • Database sync verification — After syncing two databases, verify all records transferred by comparing primary keys.
  • Order processing audit — Compare placed orders against fulfilled orders to find unprocessed ones.
  • System migration — Verify all IDs from the old system exist in the new system after migration.
  • API response validation — Compare requested IDs against returned IDs to find missing responses.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I compare order IDs from two systems?
Yes. Export order IDs from both systems and paste them into List A and List B. Use the delimiter selector to match your format (newline, comma, tab, etc.). Use A − B to find orders in your first system that are missing from the second, or A ∩ B to confirm which orders exist in both.
Does this work with product SKUs?
Absolutely. Paste your catalog SKUs into one panel and your inventory or supplier SKUs into the other. The difference shows you what is in your catalog but not in stock, or what your supplier has that you have not listed.
Should I use case-sensitive comparison for IDs?
It depends on your system. If your IDs are strictly numeric (like 12345) or always lowercase, case sensitivity does not matter. If your IDs contain mixed case letters (like SKU-Ab123), turn on "Case sensitive" to avoid false matches.
How do I reconcile database records between two tables?
Export the primary key or unique identifier column from each table. Paste them into List A and List B. A − B shows records in the first table that are missing from the second. B − A shows the reverse. A ∩ B shows records that exist in both tables.
