The Short Version

DataMinus does not collect, store, transmit, or sell your data. Everything runs in your browser. There is no server that ever sees your lists. Close the tab and it is gone.

What Data We Collect

None. Specifically:

  • We do not collect personal information (name, email, IP address, etc.)
  • We do not use cookies
  • We do not use tracking pixels or analytics scripts
  • We do not use fingerprinting or any identification technology
  • We do not run ads or ad-related tracking

How the Tool Works

When you paste lists into DataMinus, the data stays entirely within your web browser. All comparison operations (difference, intersection, union) are performed using JavaScript running on your device. No data is sent to any server, API, or third-party service at any point.

Local Storage

DataMinus uses your browser's localStorage to optionally save your lists and preferences (theme, delimiter choice, case sensitivity setting) across page refreshes. This data is:

  • Stored only on your device, in your browser
  • Never transmitted to any server
  • Accessible only to you on the same browser and device
  • Clearable at any time using the "Clear all" button in the tool, or by clearing your browser data

Hosting

DataMinus is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may collect standard web server logs (IP address, request URL, timestamp, browser user agent) as part of serving the site. This is standard CDN behavior and is governed by Cloudflare's privacy policy. DataMinus has no access to these logs and does not request or configure any additional data collection from Cloudflare.

Third-Party Services

DataMinus does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, social media, or tracking services. No external JavaScript is loaded. No data is shared with any third party.

Children's Privacy

DataMinus does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13. Since we collect no data at all, there is nothing to address under COPPA or similar regulations.

GDPR and CCPA

Since DataMinus does not collect, process, or store any personal data, the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) are satisfied by default. There is no data to access, delete, or port because none is collected.

Changes to This Policy

If we ever change how data is handled, this page will be updated with a new "Last updated" date.
